In solidarity with the Palestinian people, today, H.E. Ambassador Francisco Munis together with the Acting Head of Mission of the Palestine Embassy, Amb. Dr. Fadi Elhusseini, planted an Olive tree at the Malaysian Embassy's garden compound to symbolically express the hope for peace in Palestine, especially the Gaza territory and also to signify Malaysia-Palestine friendship.
Malaysia expresses its endorsement for the United Nations Security Council Resolution 2728, calling for immediate ceasefire of all hostilities in Gaza, release of all hostages and expedite the delivery of aid into the territory. The resolution must be immediately enforced to relieve the people of Gaza from the pain and suffering they have endured and to allow for immediate entry of emergency aid.
Malaysia remains committed to the Palestinian cause for an independent and sovereign State of Palestine and the admission of Palestine as a full Member of the United Nations.
