On Saturday, 14 May, 2011, the Malaysian Family day was held at Balaton Lake, a famous tourist resort located 120km Southeast of Hungary. There were approximately 50 people who attended the event, of which were comprised of the home-based and local staff of the Embassy, Malaysians residing in Budapest and their family members. The program began at 2.00 pm with short remarks by Ambassador Dato’ Kamilan. He thanked and welcomed everyone for their participation and the active support shown for the various activities organized by the Embassy. He was also pleased by the camaraderie displayed among the Malaysians and he urged the need to maintain Malaysia’s good reputation in Hungary.

The programs arranged included various types of games for children and adults, such as water-balloon throwing, musical chairs, treasure hunts, apple-eating, tug of war and pitching (golf).

It was a fun-filled outing for all with the benefit of having a sunny-spring day perfect for Malaysian-style picnic and BBQ. To cap it all, every family went home happy with lots of prizes won.
