The Embassy organised a 30-minute power walk and hike at Normafa Park in conjunction with Hari Sukan Negara 2018 (National Sports Day) on Saturday, 13 October.
The event saw a turnout of 32 participants from the Malaysian community in Hungary and their family members.
The power walk and hike took the participants to Erszébet Kiláto, a historic lookout tower located on Budapest’s highest point (527 m). With the said number of participants, a total of 7680 calories were burnt in the activity.
Malaysia’s National Sports Day is an initiative mooted by the Ministry of Youth and Sports in 2015, with the main objective of making Malaysia a ‘sporting nation’.
Since then, National Sports Day has been observed by Government agencies, academic institutions, and private entities. Each with their own and unique activity in getting the people actively involved in sports. This year’s National Sports Day is the Embassy’s third time partaking in this movement.
The Embassy extends its appreciation to the members of the Malaysian community in Hungary for their active participation and support in this event.
