The Embassy of Malaysia in Budapest cooperated with the Honorary Consul of Malaysia in Ljubljana, Slovenia in facilitating the Across Reverse of Marco Polo (AROMA) runner, Ms. Suwaibah Mohd Nasir into Slovenia on 30 May 2014. The runner and her team entered from Croatia through the Slovenian town of Metlika. The delegation spent three (3) days in Slovenia before departing for Venice, Italy through the town of Fernetici. The Silk Route AROMA run aimed to recreate the journey made by Marco Polo, which began in Beijing, People's Republic of China from 30 March and ended in Venice, Italy on 3 June 2014.
Upon arrival, Ms. Suwaibah Mohd Nasir and her team were received by the Counselor of the Embassy, Ms. Maslina Ngah Mamud, the Honorary Consul of Malaysia, Mr. Anton Papez and the Mayor of Metlika, Mr. Marko Zevnik. Later at the City Hall of Ljubljana, they were welcomed by the Deputy Mayor of Ljubljana, Mr. Janez Kozelj. The delegation was also hosted to lunch by the Mufti of Slovenia, Dr. Nedzad Grabus at the Islamic Centre in Ljubljana.
