ASEAN Day is celebrated yearly on 8 August, and this year, it was commemorated in New Delhi with a flag-raising ceremony at the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia. The event was attended by ASEAN Member States Heads of Mission to India, Deputy Heads of Mission, Defense Attachés, and Members of the ASEAN New Delhi Committee Working Group. Representatives from the Ministry of External Affairs of India were also invited to the celebration.
The ceremony included the singing of the ASEAN Anthem, "The ASEAN Way," as attendees witnessed the hoisting of the ASEAN Flag. The celebration of ASEAN Day plays a crucial role in fostering relations among ASEAN Member States, enhancing cooperation, and mutual understanding. It underscores the collective commitment to regional peace, stability, and prosperity, reflecting the unity and shared values of the ASEAN community.
