The ASEAN Mission’s here in New Delhi, India recently celebrated the ASEAN Family Day Celebration on 15 March 2014. The event was attended by the Heads of the ASEAN Missions and respective Home Base Staff together with their families amounting to about 250 people. The High Commission of Malaysia’s contingent was represented by a total of 39 HBS led by H.E Datuk Naimun Ashakli Mohammad, High Commissioner of Malaysia to India.
The event began with welcoming remarks by the Ambassador of Indonesia as host for the event and followed by short remarks from the Ambassador of Cambodia to officially officiate the ASEAN Family Day Celebration 2014. Among the activities undertaken during the half-day event include volley ball, darts, throwing cans, cracker eating competition and tug-of-war. Guest were also invited to enjoy the various dishes presented at the respective country booths of all the ten ASEAN countries.
The ASEAN Family Day Celebration 2014 saw many families and friends coming together from near and far, enjoying each others company which has indirectly fostered and forged stronger relations between the ASEAN community in New Delhi, India.
