On 11 August 2025, H.E. Dato’ Muzafar Shah Mustafa, High Commissioner of Malaysia to India, hosted an ASEAN Heads of Mission (HOMs) Luncheon with senior officials from the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) of India at Mountbatten, The Oberoi Hotel, New Delhi. The Ambassador of Timor-Leste to India also participated in the luncheon.
The esteemed MEA officials in attendance included Secretary (East), Mr. Periasamy Kumaran; Additional Secretary of the Southern Division, Mr. Prashant Agrawal; and Joint Secretary of the Indo-Pacific Division, Ms. Nabanita Chakraborty.
The luncheon served as an excellent platform for ASEAN HOMs to engage directly with senior MEA officials on a range of important topics, including bilateral issues between individual ASEAN Member States and India, ASEAN-India cooperation, as well as a wide array of regional and international matters of mutual interest. The engagement further strengthened the close ties between ASEAN and India, reflecting the shared commitment to deepening partnership and collaboration.
