India's e-TV (Electronic Tourist Visa)

The High Commission of Malaysia wishes to inform all Malaysian, especially those wishes to travel to India that the Government of India has launched the TVoA-eTA scheme in November, 2014 which was later renamed as e-TV (electronic Tourist Visa) scheme. At present, the e-TV scheme is based on a prior approval system wherein an applicant can apply for Indian visa online at https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/visa/tvoa.html and receive by e-mail a travel authorsation to visit India. The applicant can travel to India with a copy of this authorisation. The scheme has been extended to nationals of 150 countries/territories including Malaysia.

 

The eligibility criteria for applicants to avail of the e-TV scheme are as below:-

1.  International travellers whose sole objective of visiting India is recreation, sightseeing, casual visit to meet friends or relatives, short duration medical treatment or casual business visit;

2.     Passport should have a least six months validity from the date of arrival in India. The passport should have at least two blank pages for stamping by the Immigration Officer;

3.    International Travellers should have return ticket or onward journey ticket, with sufficient money to spend during his/her stay in India;

4.     International Travellers having Pakistani Passport or Pakistani origin may please apply for regular Visa at Indian mission;

5.       Not available to Diplomatic/Official Passport Holders;

6.   Not available to individuals endorsed on Parent’s/Spouse’s Passport i.e each individual should have separate passport; and

7.     Not available to international Travel Document Holders.
