The High Commission of Malaysia took part in the inauguration ceremony of the International Kite Festival 2018, on 7 January 2018 in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The festival marks the days in the Hindu calendar when winter begins turning to summer, known as Makar Sankranti. The festival attracted 150 delegates from 44 countries, including the UK, South Korea, New Zealand, China, and Malaysia.
The festival was inaugurated by the Governor of the state of Gujarat, Shri Om Prakash Kohli
