On 10 February 2016, officers and staff of the High Commission of Malaysia and Embassy of Vietnam, New Delhi participated in the ‘Malaysia-Vietnam Friendship Table Tennis Challenge Trophy 2016’ organised by the High Commission of Malaysia. A total of 5 teams were represented by both Malaysia and Vietnam which in turn were led by both Head of Missions, H.E Datuk Naimun Ashakli Mohammad and H.E Ton Sinh Thanh. The Malaysian team also had the pleasure to have on board Vice Admiral Dato’ Mohamad Roslan Mohamad Ramli, Fleet Commander of the Royal Malaysian Navy who was in India to participate in the International Fleet Review hosted by the Indian Navy.
The event was officiated with the welcoming speech by the High Commissioner before beginning with the respective men’s doubles matches. Overall, the Vietnamese contingent emerged as Champions as they managed to secure the tie with a total score of 3 vs 2. The event came to a close with the Prize Giving Ceremony followed by a Note of Thanks by the Ambassador of Vietnam before proceeding to afternoon tea.
