MALAYSIAN KITCHEN PROGRAMME

 

 

The High Commission of Malaysia in New Delhi carried out the Malaysian Kitchen programme by organizing a week long Malaysian Food Festival from 27 August to 2 September 2007 at Café Fontana, Taj Palace Hotel and serving Malaysian food at the National Day Reception on 31 August 2007 held at the same hotel.

 

2.         Two chefs were brought in from Malaysia to prepare and serve Malaysian food during both lunch and dinner on a daily basis.  The chefs were from Istana Hotel, Kuala Lumpur.

 

3.         Mission held a cocktail reception to launch the Food Festival on 27 August 2007, which were officiated by Mrs. Norlin Othman, Acting High Commissioner.  The 100 invitees for the evening were mainly from the media, corporate clients of the hotel and Ambassadors from ASEAN member countries.  Several of the invitees also reported that they returned with others to enjoy the food again.  Feedback from the chefs indicated that between 80-100 people dined at the restaurant every evening. 

 

4.         Diners enjoying the Malaysian food were also entertained by Ghazal music performed by Warisan Johore Ghazal group brought in for the event.
