The High Commission of Malaysia organized the “Quran Hour” on 31 August 2017. The event is originally the initiative by the Warisan Ummah Ikhlas Foundation of Malaysia. Quran Hour was held in conjunction with the wuquf in Arafah, Mecca on the 9th day of Zulhijjah of the Islamic calendar, which coincidently falls on the same day as Merdeka on Aug 31, with the objective to encourage reading, understanding and discussions of the Holy Scripture.
