The Deputy Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry of Malaysia, YB Liew Chin Tong, is in India from 17–21 March 2025 for a Trade and Investment Mission to New Delhi and Mumbai, aimed at strengthening economic ties and exploring new opportunities for collaboration between Malaysia and India.
On 17 March, the Deputy Minister participated as a panelist in the 2025 Raisina Dialogue, speaking in the session titled "Concert of Oceans: Towards a Digital Indo-Pacific", where he shared insights on the role of digitalization in enhancing regional connectivity and economic growth.
On 18 March, YB Liew Chin Tong visited the High Commission of Malaysia in New Delhi, where he met with representatives from the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) to discuss trade and investment cooperation. He was also given a tour of the Chancery building, guided by the High Commissioner of Malaysia to India, H.E. Dato' Muzafar Shah Mustafa, and signed the High Commission’s guest book to mark the occasion.
Additionally, the Deputy Minister engaged with the Home-Based Staff (HBS) and Locally Recruited Staff (LRS) of the High Commission, acknowledging their contributions in supporting Malaysia’s diplomatic and economic initiatives in India.
This visit underscores Malaysia’s commitment to enhancing bilateral trade and investment ties with India while fostering deeper cooperation in key economic sectors.
