The Attorney General of Malaysia YBhg. Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Haji Mohamed Apandi Haji Ali undertook a working a visit to New Delhi, India on 16 – 18 May 2016. The Attorney General was accompanied by senior officials from the Attorney General Chambers and was here to attend the 55th Asia-Africa Legal Consultative Organisation (AALCO) Annual Session which also was represented by 39 member states. In his statement delivered during the plenary session, Tan Sri Attorney General underlined the commitment of Malaysia to reaffirm the founding vision of the Organisation as well took the opportunity to announce the nomination of Professor Dato’ Dr. Rahmat Mohamad, Secretary-General of AALCO as Malaysia’s candidate in the election of the International Law Commission (ILC) 2017-2021. Aside from the general statement delivered by Tan Sri Attorney General, the Malaysian delegation also participated actively in the discussions relating to International Law on Cyberspace and Violations of International Law in Palestine and Other Occupied Territories by Israel and Other International Legal Issues related to the Question of Palestine.
