BIRTH/MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE

 

 

REGISTRATION OF CHILD BIRTH

 

A child born in Islamic Republic of Iran on or after Malaysia Day (16 September 1963) whose father is at the time of the birth is a citizen of Malaysia and whose birth is registered at the Embassy of Malaysia within one year from the date of birth is a citizen of Malaysia by operation of law under Article 14 of the Federal Constitution of Malaysia.

 

Application Requirements:

 

  1. The applicant and the person to be registered shall appear before the Registrar of Citizenship/Consular Officer when submitting the application in accordance with Rule 28 of the Citizenship Rules 1964 (Amendment 1996).

 

  1. The applicant shall be the parent or guardian or next of kin.

 

  1. Form D (JPN.WN02) must be completed and submitted together with copies of the necessary documents.

 

Required Documents: -

     

  1. Form D JPN.WN02 (can be obtained at the Embassy);
  2. Original and two (2) copies of child’s birth certificate issued by the competent authority of Iran duly legalised by the Consular Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs;
  3. Original and two (2) copies of parent’s birth certificate;
  4. Original and two (2) copies of parent’s identity card (back & front);
  5. Original and two (2) copies parent’s citizenship certificate (if applicable);
  6. Original and two (2) copies of parent’s passport & visa page;
  7. Original and two (2) copies of parent’s Iran ID (if any);
  8. Original and two (2) copies of parent’s marriage certificate; and
  9. Three (3) recent passport size photographs of the child.

 

Fees:

 

Application and Birth Registration (Form H) fees= IRR 200,000

Attestation fee: IRR200,000

 

Mode of payment: Cash only.

 

Processing Time: Three (3) working days

 

Note:

 

  1. All foreign documents issued outside of Iran must be certified and attested by a government representative of the country in Iran (eg. Embassy/Consulate). If these documents are not in English, they must be translated and attested by the government representative.

 

  1. Kindly bring along all the original documents and to provide two (2) photocopies of each document in A4 size.
