The Embassy of Malaysia in Amman welcomed the Eidul Fitri on 20 September 2009 in a moderate yet warm celebration. It attracted approximately 250 guests from the diplomatic community, officials from Jordan Ministry of Foreign Affairs, 'Friends of Malaysia, Malaysian students, and last but not least, Malaysians residing not only in Amman, but also from nearby neighboring countries.
The first day of Syawal was indeed blessed with an unanticipated showering of rain in the midst of summer. The event began with Aidilfitri takbir and prayers, jointly organised by officials of Embassy and other guests. After prayers, His Excellency Dato' Abdul Malek bin Abdul Aziz, Ambassador of Malaysia to Jordan delivered his welcoming speech, highlighted the concept of 1Malaysia and remained Malaysians on the importance of preserving and enhancing unity in diversity which has always been Malaysia's best strength and hope for the future.
The guests were later served Raya cuisines and delicacies at the chancery, inter missioned with choir performances from officials of the Embassy, PERWAKILAN Amman ladies and dance from Malaysian children.
