Malawakil Amman celebrated the 52nd National Day of Malaysia on 30 August 2009 at the Malaysian Embassy by over 250 guests. Among the guests of honors were Ambassadors from ASEAN countries, officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Jordan, ?Friends of Malaysia? which included ex-participants in the Malaysian Technical Cooperation Programme (MTCP), Malaysian students and Malaysians residing in Jordan.

H.E. Dato' Abdul Malek bin Abdul Aziz recites the prayer lead by Uztaz Arman Md Rusoff, Education Attache from Malaysian Students' Department Since it coincided with the holy month of Ramadan, the celebration was held in a moderate scale and programmed with prayers and tazkirah.

The celebration observed welcoming remarks from His Excellency Dato? Abdul Malek bin Abdul Aziz, Ambassador of Malaysia to Jordan, commemorated and renewed the significance of National Day for Malaysians. He also urged Malaysians, particularly Malaysian students in Jordan to fully understand and inculcate the concept of ?Malaysia1? ? which is now the national agenda and the theme for Malaysia?s 52nd National Day celebration. It was later proceeded by a cake cutting ceremony by H.E. Dato? Abdul Malek bin Abdul Aziz, joined by other ASEAN Ambassadors.
