On 26th of February 2013, the Embassy of Malaysia in Amman hosted the first ASEAN Committee in Amman (ACA) Meeting for the year 2013 which was chaired by The Ambassador of Thailand to Jordan, H.E. Mr. Piriya Khempon. The meeting was attended by all Ambassadors from Indonesia and Philippines while Brunei Darussalam was represented by the Charge’ d’Affaires. The meeting focused on programs and activities for the year 2013 and efforts that can be undertaken in promoting and strengthening ASEAN’s spirit in Amman.
The meeting preceded with a brief handing over ceremony of the Chairmanship of ACA from Thailand to Malaysia which as a symbolic gesture, H.E. The Ambassador of Thailand handed over the ASEAN flag to The Ambassador of Malaysia HE Dato’ Abdul Malek bin Abdul Aziz as the new Chairmanship of ACA in Amman. Malaysia will chair the ACA forum until June 2013.
