On 16th of March, the Embassy of Malaysia hosted the 1st ASEAN Students Leaders Meeting in Jordan was held at The Embassy of Malaysia. H.E. Dato’ Abdul Malek Abdul Aziz, The Ambassador of Malaysia to Jordan chaired the meeting which was attended by 14 student leaders from 7 ASEAN countries namely Malaysia, Brunei, Indonesia, Thailand, The Republic of the Philippines, Singapore and Cambodia.
H.E. Ambassador Dato’ Abdul Malek shared with the student leaders on the historical facts of the formation of ASEAN and the journeys undertook by each member countries over the years and the challenges that awaits. He stressed that the students can and should play a major role in this part of the world to promote the unique image of ASEAN in their own capacity. This can be done by collaborating between each student’s organization in Jordan and pooling in their experiences and existing resources together to organize various program be it in the field of sports, cultural, or even academic.
