44TH ASEAN DAY CELEBRATION
On 8 August 2011, ASEAN countries in Kenya jointly held the 44th ASEAN day celebration at the High Commission of Malaysia's Residence.
2. The cocktail had a turn out of over 250 guests from Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia, and Malaysia. Friends of the ASEAN community in Kenya were also invited. During the event, Philippine Ambassador delivered an opening remark as the Chair of the ASEAN group in Nairobi, Kenya. In his opening speech he stressed on the importance of the ASEAN group and also announced the other activities such as Film Festivals and games which would be organised by the ASEAN countries. The aim of the cocktail was to bring the ASEAN Community together in a bid to foster good relations.
3. All the Missions presented their own styles through colorful décor and wear. To ensure that all the countries were fully represented, each Mission prepared their local delicacies and dances.
