22 January 2026 – His Excellency Shaharuddin Onn, Ambassador of Malaysia to the Kingdom of Cambodia, in his capacity as the Chair of the Steering Committee of the ASEAN Regional Mine Action Center (ARMAC), chaired the 24th Meeting of the ARMAC Steering Committee in Phnom Penh.
The meeting, held in hybrid format, served as a vital platform for Steering Committee Members to receive key updates, exchange perspectives, and provide strategic guidance in support of ARMAC’s regional mandate, contributing towards a mine-free ASEAN and the promotion of sustainable peace and development.
The meeting also marked the conclusion of Malaysia’s Chairmanship of the ARMAC Steering Committee for 2025, under the leadership of His Excellency Shaharuddin Onn. Throughout Malaysia’s ARMAC chairmanship, strong leadership and dedicated stewardship were demonstrated, playing a significant role in advancing ARMAC’s institutional development and enhancing its regional engagement.
In this regard, His Excellency Ambassador also congratulated Her Excellency Mrs. Flerida Ann Camille P. Mayo, Ambassador of the Philippines to the Kingdom of Cambodia on assuming the Chair of the ARMAC Steering Committee for 2026 and conveyed Malaysia’s best wishes for a successful and productive term.
