18 March 2010 1 views

Mission has a sad duty to open two Condolence Books as instructed by Wisma Putra following the passing away of two of Malaysia’s illustrious leaders, namely; HRH Almarhum Sultan Mahmud Iskandar Ibni Almarhum Sultan Ismail, the ruler of the State of Johor and the 8th Seri Paduka Baginda Yang Di-Pertuan Agong of Malaysia, on 22 January 2010; as well as Tun Ghazali Shafie, Malaysia's former Foreign Minister, on 24 January 2010.

Both Condolence Books were opened from 26 to 27 January 2010 between 10:00 hrs to 12:00 hrs and 14:00 hrs to 16:00 hrs respectively at the Embassy. Throughout the 2-day period, a total of 15 peoples had visited the Embassy to pen their condolence messages. It was a meaningful gesture from the host country towards the state of bilateral relations between both nation with the presence of H.E. Hor Namhong, Deputy Prime Minister/Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Cambodia himself to the Embassy to pay his last respect to both Almarhums.
