On Monday, 3 June 2019, H.E. Eldeen Husaini Mohd Hashim met YBhg Datuk Phan Ying Thong of Cambodian Public Bank Plc (Campu Bank). Datuk Phan is the Public Bank’s Regional Head for Indo-China operations. For the courtesy call, he was accompanied by Mr Ong Ming Teck, the Deputy General Manager of Campu Bank Cambodia.
The meeting gave both the Ambassador and the senior banker the opportunity to exchange information especially on banking and business matters. Public Bank was the first Malaysian bank to enter Cambodian market. Being the oldest among Malaysian banks operating in Cambodia, it also has the largest number of branches, which is 33 all over Cambodia. Campu Bank in Cambodia has all together three types of businesses namely banking, securities and insurance. Ambassador hopes to form close relation with Malaysian bankers including Campu Bank which has vast experience in running banking and other financial businesses in Cambodia. Datuk Phan also expressed his wishes to support the Embassy in the programs to be organized in the future.
