8 March 2025 – His Excellency Shaharuddin Onn, Ambassador of Malaysia to the Kingdom of Cambodia hosted a Ramadhan Iftar at the Ambassador's Residence in the Embassy of Malaysia in Phnom Penh. Ambassador Shaharuddin hosted the iftar for the Malaysian and Cambodian Muslims in Phnom Penh. About 100 Malaysian and Cambodian Muslims attended the iftar. The guest-of-honour to the iftar was Neak Oknha Othsman Hasan, Minister in charge of special affairs. Other Cambodian Muslim attendees included dignitaries from the Senate, National Assembly and Senior Officials, including Secretaries of State and Undersecretaries of State of Ministries. Ambassador Shaharuddin Onn held the firm view that the ties and friendship between the two Muslim communities are especially strong due to the inseparable bonds of religion within the Muslim ummah.
