Former Ambassador of Malaysia, Datuk Pengiran Hj Mohd Hussein bin Datuk Pengiran Hj Mohd Tahir Nasruddin, headed a donation drive in Cambodia to assist Malaysian servicemen who served in Lahad Datu under Ops Daulat. The donation drive successfully collected USD8650 from Malaysian companies and individuals based in Cambodia. The total donation was handed over to Datuk Pengiran by Mr. Teh Sing, Chairman of the Malaysian Business Council of Cambodia (MBCC) during a dinner at Nagaworld Hotel on 22 April 2013. Among those who contributed were CIMB Cambodia, Smart Axiata, Nagaworld Hotel, Cambodia Public Bank, Sunway Hotel, OSK Indochina, Hwang DBS and McFadden Protective Agency (MPA) as well as personal donations from Mr. Teh Sing, Chairman of MBCC and Mr. Syed Azmeer, a businessman.
On behalf of the donors, the Embassy of Malaysia Phnom Penh had forwarded the donation to the Tabung Kebajikan PDRM. The donation manifests Malaysian in Cambodia loyalty and sense of belonging towards the nation’s safety as well as supporting the Malaysian servicemen who have served the nation with full commitment.
