OFFICIAL BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION OF HIS MAJESTY
SERI PADUKA BAGINDA YANG DI-PERTUAN AGONG

The Embassy of Malaysia Phnom Penh organised a Hi-Tea Reception in celebrating the Official Birthday of His Majesty Seri Paduka Baginda Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Almu'tasimu Billahi Muhibbuddin Tuanku Alhaj Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah Ibni Almarhum Sultan Badlishah at Sunway Hotel, Phnom Penh on Saturday on 9th June 2012. The event was hosted by H.E. Datuk Pengiran Hj Mohd Hussein, Ambassador of Malaysia to the Kingdom of Cambodia.
Approximately, 150 people attended the birthday celebration comprised of All Home Based Staff (HBS), Locally Recruited Staff (LRS) and Malaysians and their family members who reside in Cambodia. The celebration began at 2.00 p.m. until 4.00 p.m.
The celebration begun with singing of Negaraku and afterward, H.E. Datuk Pengiran Hj Mohd Hussein delivered a short remark to welcome attendees to the reception. In his remarks, the Ambassador called all Malaysians in Cambodia to pledge their loyalty to His Majesty and the country regardless of the political differences. The unity of the country is significant for future development of Malaysia. Towards the end of his speech, H.E. Datuk Pengiran Hj Mohd Hussein dedicated a farewell to the departing Third Secretary, Mr. Mohd Fadzil Mohd Othman who completed his tour of duty in Cambodia and also took the opportunity to welcome his successor, Mr. Airul Azhar Mohd Nasit.
All invited Malaysians were served with variety of Malaysian delicacies prepared by the Sunway Hotel.
It is also noted that during such celebration, Malaysians and their families are given opportunities to have informal conversation and discussion with H.E Ambassador and his officers on their various queries. This enables the Embassy officials and Malaysians to have exchange of ideas to better understand and help our fellow Malaysians in Cambodia.
