21 February 2025 - His Excellency Shaharuddin Onn, Ambassador of Malaysia to the Kingdom of Cambodia attended the official launch of the Reach Independence & Sustainable Entrepreneurship (R.I.S.E.) programme under Maybank Cambodia, officiated by H.E. Dr. Ly Thuch, Senior Minister and First Vice President of the Cambodia Mine Action and Victim Assistance Authority.
Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Ir. Zamzamzairani Mohd Isa, Chairman of Maybank Group and Maybank Foundation; and H.E. Ung Sambath, Secretary General of the Disability Action Council under the Ministry of Social Affairs, Veterans, and Youth Rehabilitation delivered the Keynote Address for the launch. Other attendees were Mr Shariffuddin Khalid, Chairman of Maybank Cambodia; Mr Rath Sophoan, CEO & Country Head of Maybank Cambodia; and Mr Shahril Azuar Jimin, Group Chief Sustainability Officer of Maybank. Both distinguished speakers delivered remarks highlighting the significance of empowering communities through sustainable initiatives.
The R.I.S.E. programme is designed to support disadvantaged communities, particularly persons with disabilities, by equipping them with entrepreneurial skills to grow their income and achieve financial independence. Through this initiative, participants will gain access to training, mentorship, and financial literacy support, fostering long-term self-sufficiency and inclusive economic participation.
