As of previous years, the Embassy continues to open its doors to fellow Muslims in Cambodia for the daily Terawih prayers. The prayers, held in the praying hall of the Embassy, saw the attendance not only from fellow Malaysians but also friends from the embassies of Brunei and Singapore as well as Cambodian Muslims. To add to the joy of performing the prayers, guests are also invited to join in the “moreh”, an after prayer meal where most will take this time to mingle and catch up with each other.
On the night of the 20th Ramadhan, the collection of obligatory tithe (zakat fitrah) was also held in which the rate for this year is USD3 per person. The collection was done by the representative of Cambodia’s Mufti office. The collection will then be distributed to those in need.
