5 April 2026 – H.E. Dr Shaharuddin Onn, Ambassador of Malaysia to the Kingdom of Cambodia attended and delivered the opening remarks at the “Study in Malaysia” event held in Phnom Penh.
The event was organised by Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS) under the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia, and represented by Mr. Shahrill Sabarudin, Chief Marketing Officer of EMGS, with the cooperation of the Embassy of Malaysia Phnom Penh. The event brought together more than 10 Malaysian universities to showcase affordable and internationally-recognised degree programmes to Cambodian students.
In his remarks, H.E. Dr Shaharuddin Onn highlighted Malaysia’s strong value proposition in higher education, including quality programmes, highly competitive tuition fees, affordable living cost and a safe and multicultural environment, as well as the growing interest among Cambodian students to pursue their studies in Malaysia. The initiative also reflects Malaysia’s continued efforts to strengthen academic cooperation and people-to-people ties with Cambodia.
