On 8 August 2018, the Embassy of Malaysia in the State of Kuwait, in collaboration with the Royal Thai Embassy in the State of Kuwait as the Chairman of the ASEAN Committee in Kuwait (ACK) for 2018/2019, co-hosted the 51st ASEAN Day Celebration at the Embassy’s Complex in Daiya Diplomatic Enclave, Kuwait City.
The memorable event was graced with the attendance of H.E. Ambassador Ali Suleiman Al-Saeed, the Assistant Foreign Minister for Asian Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the State of Kuwait as the Guest of Honour. The Guest of Honour, together with the Ambassadors and Charge d’Affaires a.i. (CDA a.i.) of the ASEAN Member States, as well as the Ambassadors of the ASEAN Plus Three (APT) Countries namely People’s Republic of China, Republic of Korea and Japan and some of ASEAN Dialogue Partners Countries including Australia and India joined the ASEAN diplomats and their family members to witness the ASEAN Flag Hoisting Ceremony and the singing of the ASEAN Anthem – The ASEAN Way.
H.E. Ambassador Dusit Manapan, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand also delivered his remarks as the current Chairman of the ACK. Cultural performances from the ASEAN Member States were also shown to the attending guests.
In its 51st Anniversary since its inception in 1967, today’s celebration is about enhancing the solidarity across borders and what it means to the ASEAN people, by way of enhancing community outreach and cooperation whether in economic, political-security and socio-cultural.

SAMBUTAN HARI ASEAN KE-51 DI KEDUTAAN BESAR MALAYSIA DI KUWAIT, 8 OGOS 2018
Pada 8 Ogos 2018, Kedutaan Besar Malaysia di Kuwait, bersama-sama dengan Kedutaan Besar Thailand selaku Pengerusi Jawatankuasa ASEAN di Kuwait (ACK) bagi 2018/2019 telah menganjurkan secara bersama sambutan Hari ASEAN Ke-51 bertempat di Kompleks Kedutaan, Enklaf Diplomatik Daiya, Bandar Kuwait.
Acara bersejarah ini telah dihadiri oleh TYT Ambassador Ali Suleiman Al-Saeed, Penolong Menteri Luar Negeri bagi Hal Ehwal Asia, Kementerian Luar Negeri Kuwait selaku Tetamu Kehormat. Tetamu Kehormat kemudian, bersama-sama dengan Duta Besar – Duta Besar serta Kuasa-Kuasa Usaha Sementara (CDA a.i.) Negara Anggota ASEAN, serta Duta Besar-Duta Besar Negara Anggota ASEAN Campur Tiga (APT) iaitu Republik Rakyat China, Republik Korea dan Jepun serta Duta Besar-Duta Besar Negara Rakan Dialog ASEAN dari Australia dan India menyertai diplomat ASEAN dan ahli keluarga mereka menyaksikan Upacara Menaikkan Bendera ASEAN dan nyanyian lagu rasmi ASEAN – The ASEAN Way.
TYT Ambassador Dusit Manapan, Duta Besar Thailand turut menyampaikan ucapan beliau selaku Pengerusi semasa ACK. Selain itu, persembahan kebudayaan dari negara Anggota ASEAN turut dipertontonkan kepada para tetamu yang hadir.
Sejak 51 tahun pengasasan ASEAN pada 1967, sambutan hari ini akan mengukuhkan semangat solidariti merentas sempadan dan apa yang memberikan impak dan makna kepada seluruh warga ASEAN, dengan cara memperkukuh capaian komuniti dan kerjasama, sama ada dalam bidang ekonomi, keselamatan-politik dan sosio-budaya.
