His Excellency Dato' Adnan Haji Othman, the Ambassador of Malaysia to Kuwait met with the Malaysian National Squash Squad at the Crowne Plaza Hotel last night to welcome them to Kuwait and to wish them the very best of luck when they compete at the 16th Asian Team Squash Championship from 1-5 May 2012 at the Sheikh Salem Sabah Al-Salem International Squash Complex in South Surrra, Kuwait. The Championship kicks off at noon on 1 May 2012 with the Opening Ceremony to be held at 7.00 pm on the same day.
Dato' Adnan met National Squad manager, Encik Robert Lau Hui Yew as well as the men's team comprising Mohd Nafiizwan Adnan, Kamran Khan, Mohd Asyraf Azan and Ivan Yuen and the women's team comprising Low Wee Wern, Delia Arnold, Siti Munirah Jusoh and Zuhijjah Azan.
Malaysia will be without the services of World No. 1 Dato' Nicol David for the women's team as she has opted to focus on preparing for the prestigious British Open later in May. The men's team will also be without the services of national No. 1 Mohd Azlan Iskandar who is out with a thigh injury while veteran Ong Beng Hee has decided to give the younger players a chance after representing Malaysia for the past decade.
