ASEAN Committee in Kuwait Chairmanship Handed Over to the Ambassador of Malaysia to Kuwait, 7 December 2014

In the morning of 7 December 2014, H.E. Dato’ Adnan Haji Othman, Ambassador of Malaysia to Kuwait joined the Ambassadors of Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam, as well as the Charge d’Affaires of the Embassy of Indonesia and the Embassy of the Philippines at the Handing Over Ceremony of the Chairmanship of the ASEAN Committee in Kuwait (ACK). The event was also attended by diplomats of the ASEAN Embassies in Kuwait.

The ceremony was held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Kuwait and began with remarks from H.E. Aye Khaing, Ambassador of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar in his capacity as Chairman of the ACK for 2014, where he also reviewed the activities of the ACK in 2014.

The Ambassador of Myanmar then handed over the ACK Chairmanship to the Ambassador of Malaysia who assumes the ACK Chairmanship for 2015. In his remarks the Ambassador of Malaysia highlighted Malaysia’s ambitions as Chair of ASEAN in 2015, and also outlined the programme of activities for the ACK in 2015.

The Embassy of Malaysia wishes to express its appreciation to the Ambassador of Myanmar for a successful chairmanship of the ACK in 2014, which has fostered close cooperation and relations between all the ASEAN Embassies in Kuwait, as well as with the host government. The Embassy of Malaysia hopes to continue the excellent work of the ACK under the chairmanship of the Ambassador of Malaysia in 2015.

Majlis Serah Tugas Pengerusi Jawatankuasa ASEAN di Kuwait kepada TYT Duta Besar Malaysia ke Kuwait, 7 Disember 2014

Pada 7 Disember 2014, TYT Dato’ Adnan Haji Othman, Duta Besar Malaysia ke Kuwait dengan disertai oleh TYT Duta Besar Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand dan Vietnam dan juga  Kuasa Usaha Sementara Indonesia dan Filipina telah menghadiri Majlis Penyerahan dan Pelantikan Pengerusi Jawatankuasa ASEAN Kuwait yang baru. Majlis ini  turut juga disertai oleh diplomat-diplomat ASEAN yang lain.

Majlis ini telah berlangsung di Hotel Crowne Plaza , Kuwait dan telah dimulakan dengan ucapan alu-aluan daripada TYT Aye Khaing, Duta Besar Malaysia ke Myanmar atas kapasiti beliau sebagai Pengerusi ACK 2014.

Semasa majlis tersebut TYT Duta Besar Myanmar telah menyerahkan tugas Pengerusi ACK kepada Duta Besar Malaysia yang akan mula mempengerusikan ACK pada 2015. Semasa ucapan beliau, TYT Duta Besar Malaysia telah memaklumkan secara ringkas mengenai peranan Malaysia sebagai Pengerusi ASEAN 2015 dan telah memaklumkan program-program ACK yang akan dilaksanakan pada 2015.

TYT Duta Besar Malaysia juga pada masa yang sama telah menyatakan penghargaan kepada TYT Duta Besar Myanmar di atas kejayaan beliau mempengerusikan ACK pada tahun 2014. Beliau menegaskan di bawah kepimpinan Myanmar, hubungan di antara negara-negara ASEAN semakin erat, Kedutaan Besar bukan sahaja di kalangan mereka malah dengan negara tuan rumah.  Malaysia berharap bahawa pencapaian ini akan diteruskan di bawah kepimpinan TYT Duta Besar Malaysia.
