ASEAN Committee in Kuwait Chairmanship Handing Over Ceremony, 27 November 2013

In the afternoon of 27 November 2013, H.E. Dato’ Adnan Haji Othman, Ambassador of Malaysia to Kuwait joined the Ambassadors of Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam, as well as the Charge d’Affaires of the Embassy of the Philippines at the Handing Over Ceremony of the Chairmanship of the ASEAN Committee in Kuwait (ACK). The event was also attended by diplomats of the ASEAN Embassies in Kuwait.

The ceremony was held at the Embassy of Brunei Darussalam in Kuwait and began with remarks from H.E. Pengiran Haji Mustapa Pengiran Aji Aliuddin, Ambasador of Brunei Darussalam to Kuwait in his capacity as Chairman of the ACK for 2013. After a multimedia presentation of the various activities organised in 2013 by the ACK, the Brunei Ambassador officially handed over the ACK Chairmanship to H.E. Ko Ko Latt, Ambassador of Myanmar who will take up the ACK Chairmanship for 2014.

The Embassy of Malaysia wishes to express its appreciation to the Ambassador of Brunei Darussalam for the excellent work and efforts in chairing the ACK in 2013, which has succeeded in further fostering close cooperation and camaraderie amongst all ASEAN Embassies in Kuwait, as well as with the host government. The Embassy of Malaysia is confident that under the able leadership of the Ambassador of Myanmar, these efforts will continue to be further enhanced in 2014 for mutual benefits.

Majlis Serah Tugas Pengerusi Jawatankuasa ASEAN (ACK) Kuwait telah diadakan pada 27 November 2013. Majlis  tersebut telah dihadiri oleh TYT Dato’ Adnan Haji Othman, Duta Besar Malaysia ke Kuwait bersama-sama Duta-Duta Besar Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand dan Vietnam serta Kuasa Usaha Sementara Filipina. Para diplomat dari Kedutaan-Kedutaan  Besar ASEAN di Kuwait turut menghadiri majlis tersebut.

Majlis tersebut telah diadakan di Kedutaan Besar Brunei Darussalam dan dimulakan dengan ucapan oleh TYT Pengiran Haji Mustapa Pengiran Aji Aliuddin, Duta Besar Brunei Darussalam ke Kuwait dan Pengerusi ACK bagi tahun 2013. TYT Ko Ko Latt, Duta Besar Myanmar ke Kuwait telah mengambil alih sebagai Pengerusi ACK untuk tahun 2014.

Kedutaan Besar Malaysia mengucapkan penghargaan setinggi-tinggi tahniah kepada TYT Duta Besar Brunei Darussalam ke Kuwait di atas kejayaan cemerlang sebagai Pengerusi ACK bagi tahun 2013, yang telah berjaya meningkatkan kerjasama erat di kalangan anggota ASEAN dan juga negara tuan rumah. Kedutaan Besar Malaysia juga yakin dan percaya bahawa Myanmar selaku Pengerusi ACK yang baru akan dapat terus meningkatkan lagi kerjasama tersebut pada 2014.
