**Meeting with INM and SRE Officials to Strengthen Consular Cooperation**

On 13 May 2025, the Embassy of Malaysia in Mexico held a productive meeting with officials from the Instituto Nacional de Migración (INM) and related departments to strengthen cooperation on consular matters and improve support for Malaysian nationals in Mexico. This meeting reflects the Embassy’s continued efforts to ensure the well-being and protection of its citizens abroad.
The discussion was attended by Ms. Shahida Binti Shoberi (Consular Officer), Mr. Alexei Martí Alonso de los Reyes (Information Officer), Mr. Rafael Bernal Cuevas (Coordinator of Consular Services), Miss Nadia Serafin (Director of Migration Regulation), Miss Ivy Franco (Deputy Director of Migration Operations), and Miss Susana García (Head of Consular Services).
Key issues addressed included the deportation of Malaysian nationals in rare cases despite having valid documentation. The Embassy reiterated the importance of receiving timely notifications from INM to allow the consular office to provide appropriate assistance. The meeting also covered procedures related to the certification and legalization of documents for education, marriage, and birth registration.
The Embassy appreciates the collaborative spirit of the discussion and is now better positioned to offer clear, updated information to the Malaysian community in Mexico.
