On 3 August 2021, a meeting with the President of the Chamber of Commerce of Guatemala, Mr. Jorge Briz Abularach was arranged through the Malaysian Honorary Consul in Guatemala and coordinated by MATRADE Mexico City. During the Meeting, TYT Ambassador Muzafar Shah Mustafa was accompanied by the MATRADE Trade Counsellor, First Secretary of MW Mexico City and the Honorary Consul of Malaysia in Guatemala.
The purpose of the meeting was to explore potential in trade and investment prospects between Malaysian and Guatemalan companies especially by creating awareness through promotional programmes. The President agreed to collaborate with the Malaysian Embassy trough MATRADE on the possibility of conducting webinars either on business and investment in general or on specific areas of interests. At the same time, the Meeting also discussed about the potential for Guatemalan entrepreneurs involved in agricultural commodity products to make full use of Malaysia International Halal Showcase (MIHAS) as platform to market their products.
