OFFICIAL VISIT BY THE PRESIDENT OF MALDIVES TO MALAYSIA

This morning, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim had the honour of welcoming Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, the President of the Maldives, on his inaugural official visit to Malaysia. The visit aims to further strengthen the bilateral relations between the two countries across various sectors.
This marks President Muizzu’s first official trip to Malaysia since taking office on November 17, 2023.
Upon his arrival at Perdana Putra, President Muizzu and his delegation were greeted with a grand official welcoming ceremony, which included an inspection of the Guard of Honour by the 1st Battalion of the Royal Malay Regiment.
Against the stunning backdrop of the Putra Mosque, the ceremonial proceedings were followed by a closed-door meeting between President Muizzu and Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, where leaders from both nations discussed strategic issues, particularly in trade and investment, the halal industry, education, tourism, youth, and sports.
