On 1 September 2017, Muslims in the Netherlands including from the Malaysian community celebrated Hari Raya Aidiladha, an auspicious day in Islam where Muslims commemorate the sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim and Prophet Ismail in obeying God's command. The event was organised at the Embasy of Malaysia and begins at 9 am with a ‘takbir’ and following by Aidiladha prayer.
Around 200 Malaysians living in and around Den Haag congregated at the Embassy with their families and Dutch friends. H.E. Ambassador Dato’ Ahmad Nazri Yusof and wife, Embassy officials and their spouses receive and interact with the guests and homemade traditional dishes such as lontong, rendang and biryani rice were served throughout the event.
