H.E. Dato’ Ahmad Nazri Yusof, Ambassador of Malaysia and officials of the Embassy of Malaysia visited Leiden University on Thursday, 23 February 2017. The aim of the visit was to learn about Leiden University and its future plans as the oldest higher learning institute in the Netherlands and hosting more than 3,900 international students.
The programme preceded with a presentation by Prof. Dr. Eric Beerkens, Senior Advisor for International Affairs of Leiden University, follows by a visit to the university’s main library. Mr. Kurt De Belders, Director of Leiden University Libraries gave a briefing on the library’s role and activities and later took the visiting party to the newly renovated Asian Library dedicated for Asia Studies. It is scheduled to be opened by end of March 2017 followed by a year long Asia Year celebration.
