The Eid al-Fitr (Hari Raya Aidilfitri) celebration was held at the Embassy of Malaysia in The Hague on 15 June 2018, the first day of Syawal 1439 Hijrah. The event started with the prayer led and khutbah delivered by Tuan Haji Jamaludin Bajuri, the Embassy’s Consular Clerk. Guests were treated with sumptuous Hari Raya spread of Nasi Minyak, Ayam Masak Merah, Daging Kurma, Soto, Nasi Impit, Rendang Daging (not crispy, definitely!) and Kuah Kacang. Malaysian Association of the Netherlands (MANL) as well as other generous Malaysians also contributed to the Kuih Raya/dessert corner of the buffet table. Around 400 Malaysians residing in the Netherlands came with their friends and family. Malaysians and friend of Malaysia as far from Belgium and Germany, also came to the Embassy to celebrate the auspicious occasion.
