The royal city of The Hague played host city to the 2014 Rabobank Hockey World Cup held from 31 May to 15 June. In conjunction with the event, 9 June was designated Malaysia Day for the tournament, in recognition of Malaysia as one of the teams participating in this edition of the Hockey World Cup. During Malaysia Day, a booth was specially reserved for the promotion of Malaysia, its food and culture as well as its lovely tourist destinations. The Embassy of Malaysia and Tourism Malaysia staff were on hand to provide visitors with information and free samples of Malaysian snacks as well as goody-bags which were very well received.

The Malaysian Hockey Team - Speedy Tigers played formidable Spain that day. Malaysian supporters, including the staff from the Embassy came out in full force to cheer on the team, and made their presence known with a 'Malaysia Boleh' banner sponsored by the Embassy Sports Club. Spain proved to be too strong for the team this time, but the Malaysian supporters loyally stayed till the very end to support the team.
