H.E. Dato’ Ahmad Nazri Yusof, Ambassador of Malaysia joined H.E. Bert Koenders, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands, Tan Sri Mohamad Nor Yusof, Chairman of Malaysia Airlines Berhad and Mr. Evert van Zijtveld, Chairman of MH 17 Disaster Foundation in the official Tree Planting Ceremony of MH17 at Vijhuizen on Saturday, 18 March 2017.
The ceremony began with remarks by Chairman of MH17 Disaster Foundation, followed by remarks by Foreign Minister of the Netherlands. H.E. Ambassador of Malaysia delivered message on behalf of Minister of Transport of Malaysia as the MH17 coordinator, followed by speech by Chairman of Malaysia Airlines Berhad. The honourable guests then proceed in planting the first tree for Captain Wan Amran, the flight captain, followed by 14 other trees representing the crew of MH17. Later, other Dutch next of kins took turn in planting trees for their respective family members, based on the seating number aboard MH17. The official programme ended by 10.30 a.m.
