Tan Sri Dr Rais Yatim, Adviser to the Government on Socio – Cultural Affairs held a working visit to the historic city of Leiden from 31 March to 2 April 2014. The delegation included representatives from Yayasan Warisan Negara and Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka. The working visit entailed visits to the Leiden University Library, The Royal Netherlands Institute of Southeast Asian and Caribbean Studies (KITLV - Koninklijk Institute Voor Taal-, Land- En Volkenkunde) and the National Museum of Ethnology (Rijksmuseum Volkenkunde). Visits to these three institutions gave valuable insight to delegation members on managing and preserving artifacts and manuscripts originating from the Malay Archipelago and Southeast Asia. |
