CHECKLIST FOR MALAYSIAN PASSPORT RENEWAL

APPLICANT ABOVE 18 YEARS OLD

1) APPLICATION FORM (IMM 42-PIN 1/97) *Click here

2) TWO (2) PASSPORT SIZE PHOTOS

i. The background colour of the photo MUST be white;

ii. Applicant must wear dark coloured clothing covering the shoulder and chest; and

iii. Ladies wearing head cover or hijab must wear dark colours preferably black. Their face must be visible.

3) IDENTITY CARD (IC) AND ONE (1) PHOTOCOPY

4) CURRENT PASSPORT PHOTOCOPY (IF ANY)

APPLICANT 18 YEARS OLD AND BELOW

1) APPLICATION FORM (IMM 42-PIN 1/97)

3) BIRTH CERTIFICATE OR FORM “W” (BORN ABROAD) AND ONE (1) PHOTOCOPY

FOR APPLICANT 13 YEARS AND BELOW, ONLY LEGAL GUARDIAN WHO HAS GIVEN PRIOR CONSENT DURING THE PREVIOUS APPLICATION CAN APPLY. THE LEGAL GUARDIAN MUST BE PRESENT WITH THE APPLICANT DURING COLLECTION OF THE PASSPORT.

PASSPORT CHARGES

NORMAL APPLICATION 13 - 59 YEARS OLD : RM200 OR EQUIVALENT IN NRS CURRENCY

SENIOR CITIZEN (60 YEARS AND ABOVE) : RM100 OR EQUIVALENT IN NRS CURRENCY

NOTES:

· PASSPORT APPLICATION WILL NORMALLY TAKE BETWEEN 2-3 MONTHS FROM THE DATE OF APPLICATION TO HANDING OVER OF NEW PASSPORT TO THE APPLICANT. THIS IS DUE TO THE DOCUMENTS AND PASSPORT BEING COURIERED FOR THE APPROVAL TO THE MALAYSIAN IMMIGRATION DEPARTMENT HEADQUARTERS AT PUTRAJAYA THROUGH THE EMBASSY’S DIPLOMATIC BAG SCHEDULE, WHICH RUNS ONCE A MONTH.

. THEREFORE, IT IS ALSO ADVISABLE FOR APPLICANTS TO SCHEDULE THEIR PASSPORT RENEWAL APPLICATION, WHILE THE APPLICANTS ARE BACK IN MALAYSIA (FOR VACATION OR ETC), WHICH COULD ONLY TAKE WITHIN 1 TO 3 HOURS OF PROCESS.
