New Zealand Malaysian Society (NZMS) held its 20th Annual General Meeting on Saturday 4 April 2009 at the Bunga Raya Hall of the High Commission of Malaysia in New Zealand. The meeting elected 8 new Committee members for 2009/2010 and noted that NZMS had successfully organised a number of social activities in 2008.
2. H.E. Dato’ Hasnudin Hamzah, the High Commissioner-designate of Malaysia to New Zealand, the patron of NZMS officiated the AGM and in his speech among others, called on Malaysians in New Zealand to safeguard the image and interests of Malaysia and to organize more social and cultural activities, to form one umbrella Association for Malaysian Associations in New Zealand and encouraged Malaysians in New Zealand, especially, in the business sector to establish partnership with Malaysian businessmen to boost Malaysia – New Zealand economic and trade relations.
