PERWAKILAN New Zealand held its Annual General Meeting on 27 February 2010 (Saturday) at the Bunga Raya Hall, High Commission of Malaysia in New Zealand and it was attended by itPERWAKILAN New Zealand held its Annual General Meeting on 27 February 2010 (Saturday) at the Bunga Raya Hall, High Commission of Malaysia in New Zealand and it was attended by its 20 members. His Excellency Dato’ Hasnudin Hamzah was the guest of honour who had been invited to deliver a speech and to open the meeting.
In his speech, His Excellency reminded the PERWAKILAN members about the important roles played by the spouses of the Malaysian officers posted to serve the nation abroad. The symbiotic relationship between the Mission and PERWAKILAN is an important one because through PERWAKILAN, socio-cultural activities could be undertaken vigorously through activities such as food stalls, dance performance, and ASEAN Ladies Circle. He further reminded the ladies to carry on the good work throughout 2010 and to keep the Malaysian flag flying high. He also informed the PERWAKILAN meeting about the implementation of the Sistem Pentadbiran Kerajaan Malaysia (SPKM) di Luar Negeri and explained the importance for all members of the High Commission to comply with the SPKM.
Datin Rusnah Ismail, who spoke after His Excellency, thanked all the members for their cooperation to PERWAKILAN in carrying out activities in 2009. She called on members to continue working closely in the quest to promote Malaysia to New Zealanders. She reminded PERWAKILAN ladies to do things not for recognition or praise and to do their work with sincerity. To the new office bearers to be elected, she wished them well and called on them to execute the responsibility to the best of their ability deserving of trust entrusted on their shoulders.
The AGM approved the new office bearers of PERWAKILAN for 2010/2011. The meeting ended at noon and was followed by lunch prepared collectively by the ladies of PERWAKILAN New Zealand.
