On Friday, 2 October 2009, Datin Rusnah Ismail, Chair of PERWAKILAN New Zealand hosted a Hari Raya Open House for ASEAN ladies at the Rumah Malaysia from 11-1 pm. Aside from celebrating Hari Raya, the function was also held to farewell Mrs. Viparanee Maolanon, spouse of the Ambassador of Thailand who had completed his tour of duty in New Zealand. Datin Noridah Nachara Hamat, spouse of the Secretary General of the Ministry of Higher Education, Malaysia who was accompanying her husband on a working visit to New Zealand was the guest of honour.
Guests were feted to sumptuous traditional delicacies such as satay, kuah kacang, roti jala, kari ayam, nasi lemak, baulu, kuih bakar, and Raya biscuits. Each attendees were given a door gift comprising local delicacies such as rempeyek, baulu and kuih ros as a token of appreciation from PERWAKILAN New Zealand.
