On Friday, 19 August 2011, His Excellency Dato’ Mazlan Muhammad and YBhg. Datin Norini Mokhtar attended the 2011 Fisher & Paykel Masterclass with Chef Wan, held at Michael Fowler Centre from 9.30-10.45 am. The event was hosted by MATRADE Sydney in conjunction with the Malaysia Kitchen Programme promotion in Wellington, New Zealand from 19-21 August 2011.
Approximately 70 guests attended the session by Chef Wan, entitled “The Trail of Spice”. Most of the attendees are the who’s who in New Zealand’s food and culinary business, including the winner of New Zealand Masterchef 2011, Nadia Lim, who is half Malaysian. Chef Wan demonstrated to the crowd how to cook Ayam Panggang Sri Menanti, Nyonya Prawn Curry and Lamb Kuzi. He also entertained the crowd with his banter and unabashed humour.
The session ended with a Malaysian luncheon prepared by Chef wan himself. The guests were treated to enjoy our Malay delicacy such as Nasi Minyak, Lamb Kuzi, Nyonya Prawn Curry and Ayam Panggang Seri Menanti.
