On 10 September 2025, a delegation from MERCY Malaysia, led by Mr. Norazam bin Ab Samah of the Technical Advisory Group, paid a courtesy call on Mr. Syafik Firdaus Hasbullah, Counsellor at the High Commission of Malaysia in Islamabad.
The delegation briefed the session that they will undertake a reconnaissance mission to Buner, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, which was among the districts most severely affected by the recent devastating floods. During their visit, MERCY Malaysia will provide preliminary relief in the form of basic necessities and medical supplies to the affected communities, while also assessing the type of recovery and rehabilitation efforts required in the coming months.
The Counsellor commended MERCY Malaysia for their timely humanitarian intervention and reaffirmed the High Commission’s appreciation of their commitment to supporting vulnerable communities in Pakistan. He also expressed the Mission’s readiness to extend necessary facilitation in ensuring that Malaysia’s humanitarian outreach is delivered effectively to those most in need.
