COURTESY CALL ON THE PRESIDENT OF THE ISLAMIC REPUBLIC OF PAKISTAN

On Wednesday, 18 February 2009 at 1:00 p.m., YBHG. DATO? ABDUL MUTALIB RAZAK, Chairman of MEDIA PRIMA Berhad, Malaysia and accompanied by HIS EXCELLENCY AMBASSADOR AHMAD SHAHIZAN ABD SAMAD, High Commissioner of Malaysia, made a courtesy call on HIS EXCELLENCY MR. ASIF ALI ZARDARI, President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan at the President?s House, Aiwan-e-Sadr in Islamabad. Besides the high-ranking officials of the Government of Pakistan, other MEDIA PRIMA officials were also present, namely, ENCIK BUKHARI CHE MUDA, CEO of TV9, CIK AZMAH DAHARI, Reporter-News and CIK SHARIFAH NUR ADIBAH, Executive Corporate Finance.

 

During the meeting, their discussions dealt with various issues on media collaboration and bilateral cooperation between Malaysia and Pakistan. Of immediate concern, PRESIDENT ZARDARI had instructed his officials to implement the direct three weekly flights from Islamabad?Kuala Lumpur?Islamabad by Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), a proposal to import  Malaysia?s national car, PROTON PERDANA, Pakistan-bred horses, agriculture officials? visit to Malaysia, palm oil production industry, development in construction sector, media exchanges and programmes and also boosting the tourism industry, such as Malaysia My Second Home (MM2H) programme, education and health.

 

As usual at the end of the courtesy call, there were exchanges of gifts and pleasantries, in particular AMBASSADOR AHMAD SHAHIZAN extended on behalf of His Majesty Seri Paduka Baginda Yang Di-Pertuan Agong to  PRESIDENT ZARDARI for the Head of State?s visit to Malaysia in this very near future.
