On 9 July 2025, Mr. Mohd Syafik Firdaus, Deputy Head of Mission held a courtesy meeting with Mr. Yasir Arrfat, Senior Advisor to the Prime Minister of Pakistan, at his office.
During the one-hour meeting, both sides engaged in constructive discussions on a wide range of matters pertaining to bilateral relations between Malaysia and Pakistan. Topics discussed included trade and investment, health, tourism, education, and other potential areas of mutual cooperation.
Mr. Syafik reiterated Malaysia’s commitment to strengthening and expanding the multifaceted partnership with Pakistan, and expressed Malaysia’s keen interest in exploring new avenues for collaboration. He also highlighted the positive momentum generated following the Official Visit of the Prime Minister of Malaysia to Pakistan last year, and emphasized the importance of building upon the outcomes of that visit.
Both parties also exchanged views on the proposed visit of His Excellency Mr. Shehbaz Sharif, Prime Minister of Pakistan, to Malaysia later this year. They expressed hope that the visit would further enhance bilateral relations and open new opportunities for cooperation between the two countries.
The meeting reflects the continued commitment of Malaysia and Pakistan to foster strong and dynamic relations based on shared interests, mutual respect, and longstanding friendship.
